Hi there, I'm Emilio Banuelos.

I am a photographer, my work focuses on the rituals of life in the pursuit of happiness. I have been teaching photography within the San Francisco Bay Area since 2002. I earned my degree in 2000 from the Missouri School of Journalism. In the past I worked as a photographer and consultant for publications in Illinois, Hawaii, and California and was the co-founder of Black Boots Ink, which conducted national and international projects to collaborate on the creation of exhibitions and publications.

As an art instructor, my goal has always been to teach my students how to observe the world around them and to express themselves through various art mediums. Art can foster critical thinking, problem solving and exploration,  and connection with others. I love seeing students gain confidence, express themselves when words do not suffice, and find pure joy in the simple act of creating something.
